Today, Saturday, the Ministry of Public Health and Population, in the temporary capital Aden, in partnership with the World Health Organization, organized the training course on protection and response to exploitation, abuse, sexual violence and sexual violence.
The course, in which twenty-five cadres participate, comes in the framework of cooperation and partnership between the Ministry of Public Health and Population and the World Health Organization, to support the health sector in Yemen.
At the opening of the session, the deputy secretary of the Ministry of Health for the Population, Dr. Salem Al-Shabhi, pointed out that the Ministry pays a lot of attention to women, because they are an essential element and pillar of society, and it must preserve and to protect them from any violence or violations to which they may be exposed.
Dr. Al-Shabhi reiterated the Ministry’s emphasis on supporting and facilitating all trends and initiatives that work to eliminate any injustice to which women are exposed, in collaboration with the UN and international organizations, especially the World Health Organization.
For his part, Director of the Women’s Department at the Ministry of Public Health and Population, Dr. Zainab Al-Qaisi, said that the reality of violence against women has reached frightening levels according to official statistics and figures, which requires all authorities to work. to reduce this violence.
Dr. Al-Qaisi indicated that the courses, which will continue during the period from September 30 to October 12, will result in the establishment of safe protection units in the reference hospitals in the governorates of: Aden, Taiz, Lahj, Abyan, Al. -Mukalla, and Shabwa, whose mission is to provide protective services for women from any violent operations, through frames. Specified and qualified health care.
