The Director of the Education Office in Abyan Governorate, Dr. Waddah Saleh Al-Mahouri, and Mr. Mahmoud Ali bin Sabaa, this morning, Wednesday, November 15, inaugurated the training course for trainers of reading approach teachers for grades (1-3). ) at the level of the Khanfar District in the hall of the Education Office of Khanfar, under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Education, Mr. Tariq Salem. Socotra, in collaboration with Save the Children and within the Education and Learning Restoration Project, funded by the World Bank and the Global Partnership for Education.
The opening of the course was attended by Professor Salem Al-Shaddadi, Director of the Department of Training and Rehabilitation in Abyan Governorate, Professor Nihad Muhammad, Coordinator of the Education Restoration Project in the Training Sector of the Ministry, and Professor Aida Awad Ali , support and technical trainer in the project.
The director of the county’s education office emphasized the need to activate awareness programs about the importance of teaching early reading, starting from the first grades in basic education schools.
Emphasizing that the office leadership wants to pay attention to developing the skills and abilities of teachers of both sexes in the classroom and how to deliver information to the student easily and smoothly, especially in the aspect of teaching reading.
The trainers, Dr. Saleh Aqeel Salem and Mr. Abdul Hadi Basalhaf, reviewed the objectives of the program, presented the training program, and also presented some of the program’s activities, such as the reality of reading in schools and phonological awareness . They also touched on presenting an applied model to implement a lesson with the new seven steps, along with their procedures.
