Journalist Nabil Al-Sufi considered that the Revolutionary Guard views the Gaza war as an important opportunity to deepen its sectarian project against Yemen and Saudi Arabia.
Al-Sufi said in his tweet, “In the adventures of the West-East conflict, the US intelligence recruited thousands of Yemenis in its war against the Soviet Union in Afghanistan. After the intelligence and the rebels split, Al-Qaeda and ISIS recruited. thousands of Yemenis, most of them from the Sunni south and center, and from the depth of republican consciousness in the Zaydi areas.”
He continued, “Today, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard wants its share of Yemeni religious sentiment in the north, to create a sectarian situation that will help it tighten its grip on this north.”
Underscoring, “The southern national identity was able, with the support and vision of the United Arab Emirates, to restore the regional balance of religious sentiment, and the elites, security zones, and southern forces led a successful war against foci of terrorism with religious sentiment, intelligence dependence, or ignorance.”
He added, “In the north, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is trying to drag the Houthis and all of Iran towards peace and coexistence, but the Revolutionary Guard sees Israel’s war against Gaza as an excellent opportunity to tighten its colonial grip on Zaidi religious sentiment. in the north, to deepen its sectarian project against Yemen and Saudi Arabia at the same time.”
Concluding, “An important strategic battle… is not hidden from the nationalist thinking circle of the Saudi leadership and some Yemeni parties.”
