Local mediation managed to complete the exchange of nine prisoners between government forces and the Houthi group in Taiz Governorate, about a year after the last exchange between the two sides was completed.
Xinhua Agency said that a local mediation committee including social figures managed, on Saturday, to complete an exchange that included the release of nine prisoners from government forces and the Houthi group.
A mediation source explained that those freed were five government forces, compared to four Houthis, all of whom were captured on the battlefronts in Taiz Governorate years ago.
The exchange process took place in the presence of members of the mediation committee in the Al-Hawban area in the northeastern part of Taiz Governorate, according to the source.
This exchange comes about a year after the last prisoner exchange between government forces and the Houthis.
