The Student Council at the College of Science organized this morning, Sunday, November 19, 2023, a student reception and welcoming ceremony for new students (Magistra – Licenciatura) in the college for the academic year 2023-2024 AD, sponsored by Prof. Dr.. Al-Khader Nasser Laswar, President of the University of Aden. Dr.. Shaif Muhammad Qasim, Dean of the College of Science, and under the supervision of the General Union of Aden University Students.
The ceremony began with a minute of mourning for the martyrs of Gaza, then a blessed recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an. After that, the head of the Student Council of the College of Science, Omar Bafadl, made a speech in which he welcomed those present and the new students and added: “You came from the school environment to the university environment with a desire for knowledge, knowledge and access.” To the goals and objectives, and the predecessors said: “Knowledge is not achieved by resting the body.”
He continued, “You will work hard, stay late and spend your time practicing. Don’t let procrastination and laziness get in any way for you. Get through the experience and challenge the odds. I say to you, ‘I see you at the top.'”
Bafadl stressed, “Reality does not have mercy on those who are negligent and sit back. Develop your skills, master your specialties, learn new things and keep the flame of the pursuit of knowledge burning in your hearts, and do not let it be extinguished.”
After that, the Dean of the College of Science, Mr. Dr.. Shaif Muhammad Qasim made a speech in which he welcomed the attendees, new students and college staff, during which he emphasized the need to adhere to university rules and attend according to the announced study schedules. He also encouraged students to have ambition to achieve their goals. by studying at the college, which is one of the best periods in the life of every student.
He emphasized the college’s interest in preparing specialized scientific cadres in the field of pure and applied sciences, development of thinking ability and creativity of students, and development of advanced study plans and programs in the field of basic sciences to keep the pace of scientific and technological progress.
At the end of his speech, the Dean of the College of Science called on the students to work diligently and be armed with science and knowledge to achieve success and excellence.
The head of the training department at the General Union of Aden University Students, Abdul Rahman Al-Saqqaf, also gave a speech in which he welcomed the attendees.
He pointed out that the General Union of Aden University Students will be a support for every student and an advisor to those who have gone astray and against those who have strayed from the path.
Al-Saqqaf appreciated the efforts of the Deanship of the College of Science, led by Dean A. Dr.. Shaif Muhammad Qasim also encouraged the students to be diligent and wished them a successful practical journey.
After that, I gave a few speeches encouraging the students to study regularly, fulfill all academic requirements, respect the faculty, staff, workers and members of the college, and adhere to the regulations of the college and all decisions issued by it.
In conclusion, the new students received the collegiate banner from their predecessors, announcing the beginning of their scientific journey within the College of Science.
