The statement emphasized that the dialogue must take into account all international resolutions, including resolutions related to the issue of the Southerners, namely (Resolutions 931, 934 and 2140 AD), as well as other resolutions related to Yemen in general, such as Resolution no. 2216, and the results of the national dialogue.
The statement came:
In the name of God, the most merciful, the most merciful
An important political statement issued by the Southern National Alliance
Praise be to God and prayer and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah
About what follows:
O sons of the people of the South, the owner of the right to their land and the guardian of their destiny and sovereignty
We are closely following what is currently happening in the city of Riyadh, the capital of the sister Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in terms of meetings and dialogues between personalities, components and parties of the conflict in Yemen, under the name of seeking political. arrangement, and we affirm that the circumstances accompanying these negotiations and the secrecy and opacity surrounding them will make them lose public consent. Partnership and popular support, which requires us to stand responsibly, courageously and transparently in front of the ongoing negotiations.
Therefore, we in the Southern National Alliance emphasize the following topics: –
First – Emphasizing national sovereignty in the first place and not excluding any of the active political and social components to achieve a balanced representation geographically and politically, rejecting any form of apparent or hidden guardianship, and emphasizing that any fatal decisions that do not empower the people to to choose who represents them is considered to lack legitimacy.
Second – after facing some previous agreements issued by Riyadh, which proved to be a failure in practice, and none of their provisions found real application, but rather only helped to create conflicting cantons that today are meant to bear responsibility, it is considered evasion by the Arab coalition to bear responsibility and fulfill obligations according to international legislation by rebuilding what was destroyed by the war.
Thirdly, we affirm that the dialogue takes into account all international resolutions, including resolutions related to the issue of the Southerners, namely (Resolutions 931, 934 and 2140 AD), as well as other resolutions related to Yemen in general, such as Resolution No. 2216 , and the results of the national dialogue, and that some new dialogues do not stipulate the previous resolutions. It is considered a violation of those resolutions, and that is a neglect of political rights and sovereignty approved by the United Nations. resolutions
Fourth – They call on the Southern National Alliance and the Arab Alliance to agree with all national and vital forces at home and abroad, and to support the reconstruction of the national state and the sovereign decision, and to avoid looking for an alternative to the contradictions. of the conflict, or to use those contradictions and their tools, which experience has shown to be useless. Rather, it is detrimental to the stability of Yemen and therefore to the stability of the region and the region.
Fifth – The Southern National Alliance calls on the Yemeni people, south and north, with their various political and social components, not to be silent about what is happening and to form a public opinion and a clear position away from the politics of burying the head. in the sand
Sixth – We affirm that there is no solution in Yemen except through peace and an end to the war, and that the success of peace and national reconciliation initiatives comes through partnership, participation, transparency and credibility. We have an example in the experiences of countries that have fought and ended their conflicts, so that peaceful steps are based on a popular consensus produced by activities in all parts of the country that allow its people to choose Who represents them? All political forces participate in determining the fate of the nation.
In conclusion, we express our respect for the value of dialogue to achieve peace, our appreciation for all those who sponsored and are sponsoring this dialogue and previous dialogues, and our appreciation for the distinguished role of the fraternal Sultanate of Oman in facilitating the achievement of consensus. between the parties, but we affirm that consideration of the previous observations is the appropriate basis for fruitful and successful negotiations, the results of which find a real opportunity for application on the spot. .
