The International Organization for Migration (IOM) reported that more than 200 people have been internally displaced in Yemen over the past week.
The organization said in its weekly report published today, Monday, that its Movement Matrix (DTM) monitored the displacement of 37 families consisting of 222 people during the period between (12 – 18) November 2023.
The displacement cases recorded last week represent an increase of 28% compared to the previous week, which was specified for the period between (5 – 11) of this November, which witnessed the displacement of a total of 29 families and 174 people.
The report added that most of the displacement cases registered last week were in the governorates of Ma’rib and Taiz, with 26 families in Ma’rib (mostly internal and from Taiz), and 16 families in Taiz (mostly internal and from Ibb ).
The Organization for Migration indicated in its report that it recorded the displacement of 9,405 families consisting of 56,430 people during the period from January 1 to November 18, 2023.
