Today, the Office of Health and Population in Shabwa County, in coordination with the National Tuberculosis Control Program, organized a meeting for the coordinators of the tuberculosis units in the governorates of the county, during which some issues are related to the work and activity of the coordinators and their practical requirements were reviewed and discussed. Some results were produced that serve the process of strengthening and developing the work and performance of the tuberculosis control units in Directorates and to address and overcome the problems and obstacles that prevent this.
During the meeting, the Director General of the Office of Health and Population in the governorate, Dr. Ali Al-Dheeb, and the representative of the National Tuberculosis Control Program, Dr. Adel Qasim, praised the efforts made in the county to fight tuberculosis. despite the scarcity and limited skills, noting the importance of the role assigned to the coordinators in this direction, expressing the readiness of the Health and Population Office in the county and the program. The National Center for Tuberculosis Control to provide support and help for tuberculosis supervise activities in the county according to available skills.
On his part, the coordinator of the National Tuberculosis Control Program in the county, Dr. Saleh Hamida, reviewed the efforts made in the county to fight against tuberculosis and its obstacles and problems, noting that the number of cases discovered is infected with tuberculosis in the county during the current year 2023 AD reached one hundred and sixty-eight cases.
