The leader of the Ansar Allah Houthi group, Muhammad Ali Al-Houthi, responded to the statement of the European Union and the United Kingdom about the detention of the Israeli cargo ship “Galaxy Leader” in the Red Sea off the coast of Yemen.
Al-Houthi said in a statement: We condemn the European Union, Britain and France for supporting the annihilation of the Jewish entity in the Gaza war, which they ignored, just as they ignored their terrorism and support for the entity in Gaza.
Al-Houthi added: The condemnation reinforces the principle of reciprocity, as well as the legitimate action taken by the Yemeni Navy to capture the Israeli ship according to the same principle.
Earlier, on Tuesday, the European Union mission to Yemen condemned the Houthi group’s arrest of the Israeli cargo ship “Galaxy Leader” in the Red Sea.
The mission said in a statement about the X platform that the threat to international navigation and maritime security was unacceptable, noting that some citizens of the European Union were among the crew.
The European Union mission called on the Houthi group to immediately release the ship and its crew.
In turn, the United Kingdom held Iran responsible for the seizure by the Houthi group of the ship Galaxy Leader in the Red Sea, demanding the immediate release of it and its crew.
On Sunday, the Houthi group announced the seizure of an Israeli ship in the Red Sea.
